Kidlife helps a parent record short voice memories of their child and keep them, transcribed, in a private timeline. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We do not run advertising, we do not track you, and we do not sell your data.
Kidlife is operated by a parent (an adult) who records memories of their own child. The account holder is the child's parent or guardian and provides consent for the child's data described below. The app is intended for adults; it is not directed to children as users.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | To create and secure your account. |
| Your child's name and birthday | To label memories and show how old your child was — you may leave the birthday out. |
| Audio recordings (including your child's voice) | The core feature — the moments you choose to keep. |
| Transcripts and tags | Derived from your recordings so they're readable and easy to find. |
| Device push token | Only if you turn on reminders, to send an optional gentle nudge. |
| Subscription status | Handled by the App Store / Google Play to unlock your plan. |
We do not collect location, contacts, photos, health data, or browsing activity, and we use no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking.
Transcription runs on our own hardware in the EU — recordings are not sent to a third-party transcription service. If that ever changes, we will name the processor and its region here before enabling it.
Data is stored with our hosting provider in the European Union (Frankfurt), and encrypted backups stay within the EU. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
Recordings, transcripts, and your child's name and birthday are your child's personal data. As the parent and account holder you are the consent-giver for that data (COPPA verifiable parental consent; GDPR Article 8). Only you — and any co-parent you explicitly invite — can see your family's memories.
We do not share your data with third parties for their own use. A co-parent you invite with a code can see and add to your family's memories. Our hosting provider processes data on our behalf under their data-processing terms; they are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
